Information about our Media Center

The purpose of the Arab Primary Library/Media Center is to promote reading, to assist teachers in teaching students, and to provide access to information. There are over 15,000 titles and 16 periodical titles in our collection as well as 6 fully networked computers in the library/media center. These work stations provide access to all network applications include Destiny, the Alabama Virtual Library, and filtered access to the Internet.

Library Media Center Policies

The Library Media Center opens daily at 7:00 a.m. for grades PreK through 2nd. Students have access to exchange books and use computers at various times during the week.

The Library Media Center is open for all students Monday through Friday until 2:40 p.m.  Students check out books weekly during regular scheduled class time and can keep them one week. Books may be renewed or checked out during scheduled flex time as needed.

Courtesy overdue notices will be sent home as a reminder to students. There are no fines for overdue books. Lost books will need to be paid for by the last day of school.

Computers are open daily to students and teachers who would like to conduct research. Students may also use computers to take Accelerated Reader quizes as needed during scheduled flex time.
