Alabama Math Science and Technology Initiative

The Alabama Math Science and Technology Initiative (AMSTI) Section of the Alabama State Department of Education seeks to improve math and science teaching statewide. Its mission is to provide all students in Grades K-12 with the knowledge and skills needed for success in the workforce and/or postsecondary studies (college and career ready).

Arab Primary School is an Alabama Math, Science and Technology Initiative (AMSTI) school. AMSTI science is a research-based program for teaching hands-on science that is engaging and fun for students. Its teachers are or will be trained in the implementation the following AMSTI science kits:

Kindergarten - Plants and Animals; Weather

First Grade - Sound, Light, and Sky

Second Grade - Matter; Shrinking Shores
